Greens Rennovation 2nd Update

Dear Valued Guests,
A greens renovation is not a routine maintenance project. It is one of the most significant investments a golf course can make in the long-term quality of its playing surfaces, and it is exactly what The Bluffs is undergoing right now.
Since closing on June 13, our team has been working through a full renovation process that starts well beneath the surface. Here are some insights on why greens need the refreshment.
Why Greens Get Renovated
Putting greens take more abuse than any other part of a golf course. Every round, hundreds of footsteps, ball marks, and club impacts concentrate on the same small surfaces, and that wear compounds in ways that are not always visible but are felt on every putt.
The core issue is what happens beneath the surface. Over time, greens accumulate layers of organic matter and thatch that restrict the movement of air and water through the soil profile. Drainage slows, roots become shallow, and the surface loses the firmness and consistency that defines quality putting greens. No amount of routine maintenance can fully reverse it. At a certain point, rebuilding is the only path forward.
Renovation addresses the problem at the source. The process involves removing the existing turf, reworking the subsurface to restore proper drainage and airflow, and reestablishing the surface with a new grass variety selected for its density, texture, and performance under heavy play.
The result is not just better greens on opening day. It is a playing surface built to improve throughout the season and perform at a higher level for years to come. That is what is being built at The Bluffs right now.
